I write this message with a feeling of immense pleasure and satisfaction that our government is organizing a national symposium on “Antibiotic Stewardship and Infection Control” on 23rd January, 2016.
A robust infection control policy coupled with antibiotic stewardship based on local microbiology data is the most suitable remedy to delay the menace of resistance from spreading fast. The extent of antibiotic resistance has reached alarming proportions and poses a serious threat not only to the future of antibiotics but also the patient's clinical outcome. We are glad that finally we have such an antibiotic policy in place.
I am sure that this symposium on Antibiotic Stewardship and Infection Control will generate necessary professional enlightenment in the minds of whole fraternity of medical profession to progress further.
I extend my best wishes for the success of this program.
